Treats for May

These are the Cinnamon Pecan Sticky Buns that I delivered about an hour ago to The Coffee Tree...sadly, I had a couple of small offcuts left...which of course I couldn't waste. I fear the WeightWatchers scales tomorrow...:-)
But honestly, they smelled and tasted so good - and it's in the interests of my consumers to occasionally check the goods I think. Well, that's what I'm telling myself...as I run on the spot to burn off the calories!!
I had some of the sugar crowns that I made for the Royal Wedding left, and thought that they'd finish off these Orange & Poppyseed Cupcakes perfectly....

I love the taste & texture of poppyseeds....I brought these organic blue ones home from Australia last Autumn and I keep them in the fridge...

And lastly, for this post, a magnificent Nutella Cake. It's a chocolate cake, with hazelnuts and Nutella filling and topping...

Luscious! Hope you are having a wonderful week so far....xoxo

  1. Oh my goodness Rachel! I have to say those cinnamon buns are making me drool! They just look soo tempting. Wish I could have one with my morning coffee! They really are a feast for the eyes! I didn't know you went to weight watchers?! I'm sure a little cinnamon bun won't hurt. Have a wonderful day sweetie! xoxo

  2. I thought for a moment when I saw the buns that they were the ones with cardomon--which do you like more? These that you made today or the cardomon ones? I always love a wonderfully well-tested cinnamon bun---just nothing like it in the world!! And as for poppyseed---I adore it! I've been eating a poppyseed cake since I was a little girl and I can taste it now!! You've inspired me to possibly make one this week---everything is absolutely lovely!!!!! I'll go to exercise tonight just cause you ran!! Another 'cross the pond' inspiration!!

  5. Well Rachel you've done it again! I'm sitting here moaning orgasmically, causing Dolly to fear for my safety. Each one looks utterly fantastic. No Sophie's choice today--I want some of each. How did you make the sugar crowns? In a little mold? Janie could have used those for the pirate princess party. I wish you'd post the recipe for the Nutella cake. Tho Nutella is a very scary substance to me--it's a triumph to have a jar last more than a day. By the way, the weight from eating doesn't show up on the scale the next day. It waits a bit. Dunno why!

  6. I think I'll have a pecan roll please, although they all look fabulous as usual! I always go for the dough products, probably because they remind me of my thighs! xxxxxxxxxxx

  7. Rosinda isn't the only one drooling here. Oh my goodness what a delectable assortment. If I had the chance to sample one I think the new bar you created in Rosinda honor would be it but those cinnamon buns and the chocolate cake, well lets just say everything looks tempting. You are a gifted baker and I love your blog.

  9. Lovely baked goods, as usual, Rachel. That Weight Watcher scale is such a "meanie!":-) It is what keeps me on track, though. You do have to allow room for "quality control," after all.:-) It just means more exercise, and that isn't the first thing I think of in the mornings. Happy days!

  10. Oh my golly, I would LOVE a one of everything, but I have to say the Cinnamon Pecan Sticky Buns had me at Cinnamon! Even though I have had yogurt for breakfast I could easily scoff a bun too! With regards to sweet treats it is a very good thing that we do not live closer otherwise my WW weigh-ins would be shot to pieces!
Thank you so much for your wonderful support on my last blog post, you made my heart all warm and fuzzy.
    Love Morwenna
